Johnny Depp is back on the top of the UK box office just as he was a year ago. Alice in Wonderland set the box office charts on fire in March 2010 and Depp is the lead character voice in the animated feature Rango, a film that sits on the top of the UK Box office in the first week of March this year. It’s an all new top 3 despite mediocre collections. Rango is followed by a brace of thrillers, The Adjustment Bureau and Unknown.

Rango amassed £1.64m on its opening weekend while The Adjustment bureau clocked £1.40m, just piping Unknown which grossed £1.36m. The King’s speech continues a dream run on the box office, the British film crossing the £1m mark despite being in its 9th week on the screens. The film total collections now stand at £41.93m.

The biggest fallers were Yogi Bear and Tangled, both dropping in the region of 70%. Yogi falls from 4th to 10th place, while Tangled drops out of the top 10. Another disappointment was the medieval action feature, Ironclad. The movie failed to make it into the top 10 with collections well under £100,000.
